•Explain Marx's concept of alienation, species-life, alienated and unalienated labor. Give an example of these concepts in your life or events you have knowledge of from any field or source. Marx’s concept of alienation describes a state of hopelessness, frustration, repressed resentment, and despair, where the human transforms into a commodity opposed to a being or purposefulness (Ch.13, Pg.386). Marx compared the past actions of others to how one can develop that human action into changing the future. Through the alienation of product and that of I can apply it to that of how I fell towards my biological father. At the age of two he left my mother and I and never attempted to contact us. When I turned eleven my mother did research with past friends to find out where he lived, I remember being so excited to connect with him. To show him how awesome I was, and that I was able to be this awesome without the help, love, or adoration from him. In the end it turned out to be the opposite, he didn’t have much to contribute to the conversation, and I ended up emotional pained.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
