LETTER TO GOVERNER REGARDING DEATH PENALTY 2 Dear Governer Cuomo: As a resident of New York and your constituent, I ask for you to uphold your continuous support of the abolishment of New York State death penalty. Throughout our country, there have been numerous wrongful executions and taking an innocent human life is the worst possible moral offense (Krasermann & Thiroux, 2015). An innocent human like Anthony Capozzi who was imprisoned for twenty years while wrongfully convicted of two sexual assaults in Buffalo, New York before DNA testing proved him innocent of a crime he did not commit (, 2016). Since 1973, more than 150 inmates on death row were exonerated because they were found innocent (, 2016). It is fair to say that our death penalty system is flawed.
