Child sexual abuse has been identified as a serious public health concern. The World Health Organizationdefines CSA as a coercive act with a child who is unable to comprehend or provide consent, leading toserious physical or psychological damage. CSA includes sexual activities like inappropriate touching ofprivate parts or indulging the child in touching the private parts of the perpetrator, molestation, sodomy,exhibitionism, pornography, and cybersexual acts. CSA is linked with an adverse impact on the child’snormal development and maturation. Around 53% of Indian children reported experiencing differentkinds of abuse, which included being forced to nude photography, assault, inappropriate touching, andsexual abuse.Child sexual abuse can result in both short-term and long-term harm psychopathology in later life.Indicators and effects include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, poor self-esteem, somatization, sleepdisturbances, dissociative and anxiety disorders including disorder.
