The Great Charter also named. Limited the king’s power, Nobles demand meaning Barons wanted to defend their privileges. In the Magna Carta it is written with the words “we” meaning King John of England and “they” refer to the Barons. Clause 61 most important because it says if King does not follow the following causes then Barons were loud to revolt. First time this had happened. H) When? 1215 I) Where? England. Signed on the battle field, Barons made him sign it. J) Importance- Why is it important and how it relates to history themes? First time in history that Barons wanted royal justice but did not want king to take advantage and have more power, so they implemented royal justice which they had advantages and gave the king limitations, expand authority but limit judiciary.
