Vietnam War 2 The Vietnam War was the longest military conflict in U.S. history. The military in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia took the lives of more than 58,000 Americans, another 304,000 were wounded. For my interview I talked with Jerry TenHopen, a Vietnam Veteran. During the interview I asked him a variety of questions including some biographical information, about the military service, about the Vietnam War, and about what happened after the war. Jerry TenHopen during the Vietnam War was 22 years old. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was still living there. He had a high school education and no intention of going further. He only had one sibling, his brother, and lived with his mother and father. His dad worked as a Hilo driver, and his mom stayed at home as a housewife. Like most men during the Vietnam War Jerry was drafted into the
