Unformatted text preview: Cory LAI 350 F Article #8 “Technology in the Classroom” Jane Healy has most certainly written a very thought provoking piece in her article “The Mad Dash to Compute.” The article deals with the effects and issues surrounding the implementation of new technologies in the classroom and how they may actually not be living up to the standards we once thought they would. Her two main points in my opinion are; teachers are not being educated properly when it comes to new technologies in their classrooms and that because of the social pressures to provide computers and technology in the classroom schools may actually be eliminating programs and resources that more beneficial to their students. To be perfectly honest, I find it difficult to oppose Ms. Healy’s points. I feel like she has covered all the bases when it comes to the use of technology in the classroom. I might say that it’s not the technology schools need to be concerned with but the people involved with the organization of it. That would be a valid argument need to be concerned with but the people involved with the organization of it....
