1/28/08 Packaged good: something you can buy at Walgreens, or supervalue or target. Fairly inexpensive. Something you can put in a grocery cart. Hard Good: something you might research further prior to purchase. Service: A place where you are served. Intangible item. Retail store, restaurant, anything where service is involved. All these categories breakdown to more specific categories. Ex; MSM is a service but could be broken down into entertainment as well. Packaged goods can be broken down to specific type of packaged good. 4242 Portfolio Class Consumer Insight+Brand Insight= Sweet Spot Consumer Insight: Emotional Connection with consumer. Not connection with a large group of people. It is an individual connection with the consumer. Emotional connection is part of every product. Some products tie into history and plays into a level of emotional comfort. Admiration can tie into it as well. If someone you admire uses a product you will be prone to using it as well Brand Insight: Brand is the rational benefit of a brand.
