Herodotus’s Testimony a) Ion is an Athenian which claims that the cities of Ionia belong to Athens b) Ion’s Athenian pedigree is a relatively late development probably Athenian propaganda c) He notes that when Athenian claimed Ion, it was when they were still living in Pelapensia d)
