For the last 2-3 years my community has experienced a lot of gun violence among the youth (14-17), and young adults (18-30). Some of the initiatives that have been implemented in our community are designed to inspire, empower, encourage, educate our youth and young people throughout the community, these programs are: 1. Big Brothers and Big Sisters (Family Services of North Western PA) - Their organization provides youths an one-on-one relationship with an individual who encourage, inspire, and teaching them the importance of education, and also making them aware of the consequences of bad behavior. 2. Bethesda Trinity Center (After School/ Youth Group) – This facility provides entire families a place that is safe to learn, socialize, communicate, and build relationships with other families throughout the neighborhood. This facility also educates families about the dangers of drug and alcohol use. 3. Unified Erie- An organization that implement plans to address risk factors and
