Why is this domain important? Friendships are so vital to human being that friendless  children and those whose interpersonal relationships with  peers are unsatisfactory lead unhappy lives. By addressing social development with our students, we  are teaching valuable life skills that they will use forever.

You May Wonder: How do children develop social skills? EXPERIMENTATION on the reactions certain behaviors receive OBSERVATION of how others behave and how they are treated •Field Experience Anecdote: Little girl pulls at me and whines when she is mad about something. I told her not to pull me and whine because I don’t’ know what she wants and it isn’t good manners. I tell her to use her words and help her say what she needs to say to me by questioning her. After telling her this, when she occasionally poked me and whined, I would remind her to use her manners and her words. Eventually, she learned to not poke me and to talk me and not whine.
