Brandy McGovern Monday Night Class Reaction to Psychosocial Theory This theory has been the most helpful of all the theories that I have learned this class period. As I have mentioned in previous papers I plan on working with children and this theory applies very well to the issues of children. I also agree that before this theory can be applied, the issues in the current child welfare system have to be changed. The important part of this theory is that it does not only look and one angle of the person. This theory asks those using it to look at the issues of mental health, physical health, and the social environment the person lives in and comes from. To many theories just look at one angle and neglect to look at the total picture, this results in the person returning for services over and over again. When you are working with children they have their issues, but then there are the issues of the family they come from. When you only work on the issues of the child, you are setting the child and the family up to fail and the child coming back into the system.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
