AbstractionInterpersonalcommunication is the process bywhich people exchange information, feelings, andmeaning through verbal and non-verbalmessages. It is face-to-face communication.Interpersonalcommunication is not just aboutwhat is actually said - the language used – but
how it is said and the non-verbal messages sentthrough tone of voice, facial expressions, gesturesand body language. When two or more people are in the same placeand are aware of each other's presence, thencommunication is taking place, no matter howsubtle or unintentional.Without speech, an observer may be using cuesof posture, facial expression, and dress to form animpression of the other's role, emotional state, personality and/or intentions. Although nocommunication may be intended, people receivemessages through such forms of non-verbalbehavior.
