Codes Code: A general term for a set of n-bit strings One string from a code is called a codeword . Representational codes: Each string represents one element of another set such as A set of numbers (e.g. decimal digits). A set of characters (e.g. on a computer keyboard). Error Control Codes: Detect or even correct errors in bit strings by adding more bits.
