Amrit Gupta 3/18/08 UNVR 195a An Investigation into a Possible Cure For Cataract In the April 2008 issue of the Popular Science Magazine, there is an article entitled “No More Blind Spots”. This article appears on page 40 of this magazine issue and discusses how it appears that there may be a non-surgical care for cataract. Before reading this article, I knew that cataract was an eye condition that made it difficult to do activities such as driving or reading. Although the article is brief, the risks that cataract carry in everyday life and the risks that this new medication could have are not at all trivial. According to the Online Medical Library, cataract is a condition defined by “a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye”. Some of the frequently seen symptoms of cataract include poor night vision, needing bright light to read, and fading of colors.
