Dyspareunia is a painful sexual intercourse due to medical or psychological causes. The pain can be primarily on the external surface of the genitalia, or deeper in the pelvis upon pressure against the cervix. In women the cause of pain maybe anatomic or physiologic including lesions of the vagina, retroversion of the uterus, urinary tract infection, lack of lubrication, scar tissues or abnormal growth. In men the pain is sometimes in the testicular or glans area of the penis after ejaculation. Infection of the prostate, bladder or seminal vesicles can
