Parenting styles and their effect on children’s behavior By: Madison Chicovsky Parenting style plays an important role in raising a child. A parenting style is a psychological concept based on regular strategies that parents use while raising their children. There are many different theories and concepts about the best ways to raise a child, some of which include authoritarian and permissive styles. Responsibilities as a parent start the moment after the birth of their child, and play a significant role on a child’s life. Most of the time, parents develop their own parenting style based on their child’s temperament, their own upbringing and what culture has instilled in them. There are no set rules, and styles typically grow and change as the child grows their own personality but the actual quality of the parenting is an important influence on children’s intellectual, emotional and social development.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
