2Silence of the lambsAbnormal psychology is concerned with psychopathology and abnormal behavior. Atypicalailments include depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and personality disorders. Amongthe specialists in the field of abnormal psychology are counselors, clinical psychologists, andpsychotherapists. This field brings together experts and practitioners to better understandabnormal psychology. The distinction between "normal" and "abnormal" behavior is wellunderstood by professionals in the field of abnormal psychology. According to Cherry (2019),there is a very minor curve that determines where someone will fall. For example, a highlyclever person can easily be spotted as being on the upside of the curve and characterized ashaving "abnormal conduct" due to his or her genius. Because the line between normal andabnormal conduct is so thin, it can be difficult to distinguish between the two.CharacterHannibal Lecter is the central character in Silence of the Lambs, and he will be the focus of ourattention. Hannibal Lecter was a genius from an early age, capable of quickly learning newlanguages. However, he was unique in that he was antisocial, giving the appearance that he waspeculiar. According to Mental Health (2017), antisocial personality disorder is a personalitycondition in which a person develops long-term practices of manipulating, exploiting, orviolating the rights of others, leading to criminal action. Hannibal Lecter was a serial killerknown for devouring human flesh. He was regarded as antisocial because he was socially inept.Because he was arrogant, manipulative, and vicious, he was regarded to be antisocial.
3Acting impulsively, employing physical hostility, committing multiple criminal offenses, anddeception were among his antisocial personality disorder traits (Smith, 2019). Although he wasfond with Starling, an FBI agent, he maintained a frigid manner. These deviant activities confirmhis antisocial personality disorder (Gullhaugen, 2011).BiologicalThe biological method tries to aid psychologists in gaining a better understanding of how yournervous system, hormones, and heredity affect your behavior. Biological psychologists are onthe lookout for a link between your mood and your brain. According to McNabb (2019), is asimple way of expressing that your actions are a result of how your brain is built. Variousbiological treatments for disturbed psychology have been created.
