Nathaniel Hawthorne Style of Writing: Gothic [usually an atmosphere of suspense, fear, and mystery; everything contributes to “the dark”] “...the woman’s ghastly conception so engrossed the minds of her family that a sound out in the night...had grown broad, deep, and terrible , before the fated group were conscious of it. The house and all within trembled...as if this awful sound was the end of the world . Young and old exchanged one wild glance, and remained an instant, pale, fright, without words, or power to move. *Words/phrases in green represent those that take a gothic tone*

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
