Problem (1). The following liquid phase reaction   2 h A B takes place at steady state in a CSTR at 350  o C. The reaction rate is  A r kC = -  (k = 0.5 min -1 ) The volume of the reactor is 200 m 3 .The initial concentration of A entering the  reactor is 1 mol/L at a volumetric flow rate of 20 m 3 /min. At some point (t=0) the  temperature in the reactor is lowered to 325  o C. Calculate the new conversion  after 100 min. Given: E = 2200 J/mol. 2

The following reaction is carried out in an adiabatic PFR: 1 1 - k k A B The reactor volume is 1000 L, and the volumetric flow rate of pure A at 100  o C is  100 L/min. The standard heat of reaction is -20 kcal/mole. The PFR is assumed  long enough so that the reaction reaches equilibrium.
