CHEMISTRY 20L COURSE INFORMATION Spring 2007 Instructor: Dr. Lisa M. Wesoloski Lecture: Thursday 12-12:50, CS24 in Young Email: [email protected] Lab rooms: 1370 Young and 1379 Young O ffice Hours: , 2070B Young Hall LAST DAY TO DROP THE COURSE – Friday, April 13 Virtual Office Hours (VOH): ( http://voh.chem.ucla.edu ). Chemistry 20L will use the Department of Chemistry Virtual Office Hour website for posting all course information. VOH will provide the pre- and post-lab report guidelines and office hours on the Internet. Lab Section Instructor: One of five Teaching Assistants (TA). Times and locations of all TA office hours will be posted on VOH by the end of the second week of the quarter. You are encouraged to attend office hours scheduled by any of the TAs. Enforced Requisites: Courses 20A (C- or better) and 20B (C- or better) Required Course Materials: Text: Chemistry Experiments for Physical Science and Engineering Majors , 2 nd Ed, Russell and Henary Laboratory Notebook: Lab notebooks are designed for duplicate records and available from the Undergraduate Chemistry Fraternity (AXE), which is located in Young Hall 1275 and the student store. All experimental data and lab reports will be recorded in this laboratory notebook. Safety Goggles (OSHA APPROVED) and Protective Clothing: A full-length lab coat, closed-toe shoes, long pants and eye protection must be worn at all times when doing experimental work. Safety goggles and lab coats may be purchased from the AXE (Room 1275 Young Hall.) Under NO circumstance are shorts and sandals allowed in the laboratory. You will be dismissed from the laboratory if you are not wearing appropriate protective clothing. Latex gloves will be provided for those
