What Is Writing?? 8/27/07: To me an author is just a writer who gets his/her work published. Anyone is able to be a writer, because we all have an interest or field we love. If we take what we know and put it down on paper then we have become writers, whether it is fiction or facts we decide to write down. As much as some may dislike it, I would require at least one writing class for students because it’s a skill you use for the rest of your life. 12/3/07: At the beginning of the year I would dread writing a paper. I thought of writing as just a boring way of getting your point across. After this course I learned that there are so many different types of writing, and there are tons of things that affect it. The choice of font can change the content, bolding or italicizing can add emphasis. You can write autobiographies, or biographies on someone else. I guess I never really realized the different ways you can go about writing, sometimes a letter that is hand written means a lot more than an email.
