PROBLEMS ON TRANSIENTS 1. In the circuit shown in fig. initially switch is kept open for long time. At t=0, switch 'k' is closed. Obtain expression for current in the circuit for t>0.Find value of current at t=0.25sec. What will be the current in the circuit in one time constant period? Determine the instant of time at which the current in the circuit reaches to 1.2A. 2. In the circuit shown initially switch 'k' is kept at position A for long time. At t=0, switch is moved to position B. Find expression for the current for t>0. Find value of current at t=6.6667mSec, 13.3334mSec. Plot the variation of current through inductor versus time. 3. A series R-C circuit shown in the fig. consists R=10 Ohms and C=0.1F. Initially switch 'K' is kept open for very long time. At t=0 it is closed. Find expression for V c (t), i c (t) and V r (t) against time. 4. Obtain current i(t) for t>=0, using time domain approach.

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
