Often take comm. For granted o Many are trained in another area Tend to rely on official channels of communication – formula for what you do, have certain things you to (requests, forms, etc) o Requests, orders, guidelines, policy statements Downward distortion – right away or as it gets passed down o Selective exposure, - attention, - perception, - retention, - action
