What is the function of a leucine zipper motif and what general feature of an alpha helix does it follow? Describe the general sequence rule that has been associated with this motif. it is the dimerization domain of a transcription factor class; it allows two helices to come together through hydrophobic interactions; the distribution of polar and non-polar residues follows a heptad pattern (seven residue repeat) a b c d e f g where a and d are hydrophobic and d always a leucine 5. The DNA binding motif known as helix-turn-helix motif and the histone proteins are alpha helical proteins. How does the use of helices differ in these two proteins?
