2Personality's Influence on Academic PerformanceWe will be Speaking of personality, personality traits, and how personality traits influenceour academic performances and everyday lives. This paper will cover the definition of eachsubject in-depth and dig into what makes our personalities and traits what they are and whatcharacteristics follow along with it. We will find out how our characters influence us and figureout how to use our personalities to help us learn better.PersonalityIn our textbooks, personality is defined as a person's unique and relatively stable patternsof thinking, emotions, and behavior (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, pp.697, 2022). In other words, personality is what defines us as human beings. Our personality is expressed and developedwhen we are very young. Most believe that our personality develops when we are toddlers, butour textbook says our mood is evident from birth (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, pp.382, 2022). Iagree with this 100%. I have watched my nephews blossom into who they are since birth—observing their personality carry on from year to year.Personality TraitsWhen first discussing personality traits, it is essential to remember the personalitystructure. There is the id, the ego, and the superego. The id means you are self-centered and justlooking for pleasure and acting on impulses. They say that if the id were in control, the worldwould be chaotic beyond belief (Coon, Mitterer, & Martini, pp.384, 2022). The ego is describedas the thinker, planner, and problem solver. This ego is guided by reality and, together with theid, can result in a genuine desire, unlike if it was just the id's decision. Lastly, the superegorepresents moral consciousness by acting as a judge, or they say censor for thoughts and actions
