Risk management functions and quality improvement functions in an organization can overlap interms of addressing patient and staff safety. For example, this includes the declared pregnancysafety requirement, any COVID PPE safety issue, quarantine, or sanitation occupational safetystandards. Using information from your employer/organization's risk management plan, or thatof an allied health care organization in your city or region, identify and summarize two functionsthat commonly overlap in this manner. What common factors lead to the overlap? Does thestructure work for the organization you selected? Why or why not?Hello Everyone,The difference between risk managementin healthcare comprises the clinical andadministrative systems, processes, and reports employed to detect, monitor, assess, mitigate, andprevent risks. While quality improvement seeks tostandardize processes and structure toreduce variation, achieve predictable results, and improve outcomes for patients, healthcare systems, andorganizations (CMS, 2021).With Fresenius Kidney Care, patient andemployer safety is priority, especially when it comes to a time of COVID-19 and immunecompromise patients. All employees must be trained to COVID PPE that workers may need for protection fromexposures to SARS-CoV-2 in areas with community transmission are included but not limited toeye protection, N95, gowns, gloves, and facemasks. Employers should also continue toimplement universalcloth face coverings, basic hygiene, physical distancing, workplacecontrols, flexibilities (e.g., sick leave, telework), and employee training described in this andotherOSHAandCDCguidance in ways that reflect the risk of community spread of SARS-CoV-2 (United States Department of Labor, 2021). Constantly improving and making sure to
keep patients safe by continuing to use the guidelines provided will help prevent any furtherissues.Best Regards,Marsil SidhomCitation:CMS. (2021, March 31).
