Winston constantly questions the truth of the Party, on the basis of his memories and dreams that contradict. He seeks rebellion. He commits thoughtcrimes, for writing in a diary. Has sex with Julia. Becomes a part of the Brotherhood. However, in the end becomes devoted to the Party. Antagonist | Big Brother and the Totalitarian Society; Big Brother is apparantly constantly watching over the people Oceania. His existence is not really known and could just be a creation of the Party. The Totalitarian Society consists of the Ministry of Truth, Ministry of Peace, Ministry of Love, and the Ministry of Plenty. Together, these ministries work to have complete control over the people of Oceania., control through Newspeak.
