Bibliography…………………………………………………………………………………… 30 Brief Overview of Toyota: Toyota Motor Corporation was founded in 1937 by Kiichiro Toyoda and today is the #1 car distributor in Japan (Hoovers Online). The following write-up analyzes Toyota and its top competitors finically in great depth and detail. The automobile industry has been in an economic rut the past few years and old powerhouses like the “big three” are struggling to earn a profit. After reading this report, it will be evident that Toyota is the best in class in all financial circumstances. America has embraced Toyota’s culture, causing them to succeed in an industry that all other competitors are struggling in. Although Ford and GM are the top two car distributors in the world, Toyota is right at their heels and will surpass them in the upcoming decades. The bottom line is: Toyota is dominating the automobile industry and competitors are barely managing to get a profitable niche in the market share. An economic analysis of the automobile industry revealed some disturbing numbers. GM has experienced net income losses in the billions the last two years. Ford is still in the positive

but their bottom line is dwindling away. Honda has experienced a decrease in net income as well, but it dwarfs its American competitors.
