Did COVID-19 Begin as a Lab Leak in China?
The article I chose is “Did Covid-19 begin as a lab leak in China”. The two sides to the issue are
from former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and the Chinese governments. Former U.S.
secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, believed that the coronavirus pandemic originated in a Chinese
lab and accused the communist government of covering up the leak from the world. Mike
accused the government of hiding the truth after a report in the wall street journal was published
claiming that three workers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were hospitalized in November
2019 with symptoms consistent with Covid-19 symptoms. Although, Chinese Communist party
claim that the first case of Covid 19 was on December 8th, 2019. Mike Pompeo had strong
reasons for his suspicion as “The Chinese Communist party went completely dark,”. Pompeo
also said “They wouldn’t take our phone calls; they wouldn’t answer our questions. We sent
inquires, we couldn’t get a straight answer …”.
