iiiDefinition of TermsAncient -Having lived or existed for a very long time.Benelux States- Consisting of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. These are together known asthe Benelux countries, from the initial letters of their names.Civilization -A complex human society, usually made up of different cities, with certain characteristicsof cultural and technological development.Contemporary World- The circumstances and ideas of the present age.Empire- A major political unit having a territory of great extent or a number of territories or peoplesunder a single sovereign authority.Emancipation- To free from restraint, control, or the power of another.Interwar- Occurring during a period of peace between two wars, especially between World War I andWorld War II.Industrial Revolution- A rapid major change in an economy (as in England in the late 18th century)marked by the general introduction of power-driven machinery or by an important change in theprevailing types and methods of use of such machines.Ideology- A set of opinions or beliefs of a group or an individual. Very often ideology refers to a set ofpolitical beliefs or a set of ideas that characterize a particular culture.Mass Migration- Refers to the migration of large groups of people from one geographical area toanother.Totalitarianism- A system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and requires completesubservience to the state.Unification- The act, process, or result of bringing or coming together into or as if into a single unit orgroup unification of a divided nation.
