Matt Hudson 2/27/06 Honors Humanities Extra Credit A Midsummer Night’s Dream Plot- There are four main characters: Demetrius, Helena, Lysander, and Hermia. The play starts by introducing the characters, and whom each of them loves. Hermia, the daughter of Egeus, loves Lysander. Lysander loves Hermia, but Egeus does not want his daughter to marry Lysander. Egeus wants his daughter to marry Demetrius. Helena loves Demetrius, but Demetrius does not return that love. Since Hermia’s father forbids Hermia’s and Lysander’s love for each other, they plan to run off to the next town to get married. Demetrius finds out about their plans and chases after them. While in the forest, the fairies interfere with the mortals’ lives by giving love potions to Lysander and Demetrius. When they wake up, they will love the first person they set eyes on. Unfortunately, a Lysander wake up to see Helena, and instantly falls in love with her. Demetrius also wakes up to find Helena standing next to him, and he also falls in love with
