SoYoung Lyu Final draft A Hybrid of Cultures Within me, there are two worlds or possibly multiple worlds breathing everyday. The commingling of what were known to be two separate worlds in the past has made me a hybrid of different cultures. In fact, living in America has made me a hybrid of East and West both physically and mentally. Globalization allowed me to immigrate to America from the East and has let me experience a different atmosphere. For me, the area in which East and West are combined the most is music. Ever since the year 2001, I have become a fan of a Korean group of singers called Shinhwa. They are the first teenager group to last more than eight years in Korea and they are still the most popular singers in Korea. They are so famous that they have many fans in China and Japan as well as Singapore. I love almost every song they sing and their concert performances and show programs. They are good-looking guys who can sing, dance, and entertain people; some can even act, too. I am such a huge fan that I even read online Shinhwa fictions written by their fans. Although I love them as any other Asian girl would do, there is also an unusual side of me that cannot be found very often in a young generation. It is the fact that I love classical music with all my heart.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
