History 106 – Chinese Lives Final Review Guidelines Fall 2006 The Final Exam Will Be Held Monday December 11, 2006 at 8:00 am in THH 202 (our usual classroom) The final (40 points or 20% of your total grade) will cover material drawn from the whole course, though sections I and II will focus on the period after the Song Dynasty. It will be in three parts. Part I - Identification of Terms (4 points each for a total of 12 points) This section will consist of short-answer identification of three sets of terms drawn from items 5, 9, 22, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 36, 44, 57, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 72-117 and all of the non-optional geographical items on the Identifications Handout. The professor will choose 10 to 12 of these items and arrange them in two columns. You will choose three from the left column and link each to one item in the right column. Provide an identification (who or what, when approximately) of both the items and make a meaningful historical connection between the two which allows you to draw out their significance. Explaining significance is essential to receiving full credit. You can use items only once. Part II – Identification of Primary Source Texts (1 point each for a total of 3 points)
