Christopher Brock November 7, 2002 Do you enjoy horror movies? Hair standing, my goose bump-covered body trembles; my cold and clammy hands are clenched into tight fists. “AHHH!” is the only thing that I can hear as every girl in the theater cries out spine-tingling squeals. The entire auditorium vibrates as everyone jumps out of the seats in unison. One of the most traditional ways to spend a typical Friday night as a teen is to go to the local cinema and catch the latest horror flick with a group of friends. Almost every young adult enjoys a good horror movie; I am one of these people. Horror movies have been around since the 1930’s and are still part of an essential genre to any moviegoer. Friday the 13 th , Carrie , Frankenstein , and Halloween are just a few of the most famous classic horror films. Nowadays, movies such as Scream , The Ring , 13 Ghosts , and Ghost Ship

Some of them are cheesy. Alright, most of them are cheesy, but I sure do love them. The rush of adrenaline that I get while waiting for a surprise to jump out at me during a horror movie is one of the best feelings in the world. I can feel my skin wince up and become bumpy. Everyone knows that feeling; I don’t know if it is a feeling that is loved by all, however, I’m sure most people do not have a problem with it. There are only a few things more fun than a night out with the friends, checking out a movie about a crazed ghost that inhabits a summer camp or a killer that cuts off his victims’ hands. This activity is a definite technique to make for a great, fun-filled evening....
