Ellen Kang4150-92February 10, 2022Case Study #11.Convert her height and weight to centimeters and kilograms. Calculate her % IBW,% UBW, and BMI. Interpret her weight and weight change based on theseparameters.m22
2.Calculate her nutritional requirements (calories, protein, and fluid) and compare hercurrent intake to her needs.
Protein needs= 1.2 x 63.63 kg = 76.36 grams. To calculate her protein needs,I took her broken femur into account which will require some major surgery, which is why her protein requirement may be higher than what the RDAsuggests.Protein needs= 76.36 grams of proteinUsing,I logged all of the food from her food diary. Itshowed that in an average, the patient consumes 1,098 calories and gets 40.5grams of protein on an average day. Compared to what her requires, she isconsuming 291 less calories than what she needs. She is also consuming35.86 less grams of protein than what she requires on a daily basis. Finally, she is only getting in 891.2 mL of fluid on an average day, which is 498.4mL less than what her body needs.
