Coronavirus has been a significant risk ofhealthcare workers developing post-traumatic stress disorder.Summary of ArticleThe article I chose references the coronavirus and its effect on healthcare workers.Healthcare workers treat patients with the virus every day, and they face a high risk of beinginfected and spreading the virus to other people. This type of situation increases their risk ofsuffering from the psychological impact of dealing with conditions that may not be unfavorable(d’Ettorre et al., 2021, p. 1). The article states how previous infectious diseases such as severeacute respiratory syndrome and influenza A were associated with mental health issues such aspost-traumatic stress disorder among healthcare workers.The authors of the article state thatcoronavirus can be another infectious disease that can cause post-traumatic stress disorder amonghealthcare workers.
