P.212 Meaning 1. Procrastination is the act of putting an activity off and doing something else to avoiding doing the activity. The book describes it as “The idea is to occupy the mind and body with anything but the impending task.” I think that Voccola believes that procrastination is an art because sometimes it is hard to find other activities to occupy the mind. It is hard to get the task out of your mind and to find another activity that occupies the mind fully so you forget about the task. 2. What is ironic is that the procrastination actually helped him. He knew that if he got frustrated that he could always go back and procrastinate with another activity. This maybe allowed him to feel less stressed which may have given his mind a break and help come up with ideas. When someone isn’t stressed out then ideas come naturally. Plus knowing that he wasn’t bound to working gave him freedom and possibly motivated him to work. 3. I think it is broader because Voccola could have said that it is an art and it helped clear the mind of a task and reset the mind to start fresh and get good ideas. 4.
