Objective: To study two cases of simple harmonic motion, that of the simple pendulum, and the spring system. Procedure: First the group worked with the simple pendulum. The group first picked measured the length of rope from the top to the middle of the ball. Then the group measured both the diameter and radius of the bob. After that was done, the group pulled the string back till it made a 5 degree angle from its place of rest. We measured this with a protractor. Then we let the ball go and proceeded to count 25 revolutions of this pendulum, while timing it at the same time. We did this with each of the next 10 trials, the only thing we did different is adjust the length of the string. For the Spring, the group measured the mass of the spring, and how long it was when it was sitting still. Next the group proceeded to weigh several weights and place them on the spring. Each time this was done, we measured how much the spring had elongated. Then we proceeded to pull the weight back a little and let it go.
