1. Based on the following case study, is Label Group Inc. internally ready to launch this newventure? Why or why not? Provide a rationale for your assessment.Case Study: Label Group Inc. Label Group Inc. is an organization recently formed through theamalgamation of several organizations. The individual organizations sold quality signage, labelling equipment and supplies, and outdoor LED signs, respectively, in a total of tencountries. Label Group is currently in transition as it is reorganizing post-amalgamation, whichhas required some redefinition of job roles and some staff layoffs. The organization needs toshow a profit for its investors in the next 12 years. The production department has identifieda potential new product and target market: printing plastic labelling sleeves, which arecommon on other continents, but are not yet available or widely used in the markets whereLabel Group Inc. operates. The supervisors in the production and sales departments areexcited about the potential of this venture. They believe they can also launch this product incountries where Label Group Inc. has not yet operated. When companies decide to amalgamate, they look forward to improve their financial statusand diversify in terms of the goods and services they wish to offer. Additionally, they expectto achieve managerial effectiveness and address the stiff competition in their respective fieldsof business. In the case of label group, I believe companydon’thave to take risk at the timewhere post-amalgamation is going on because there handling of the project depends uponthe staff which is not suitable as it is mentioned that some staff layoff and job roles areredefined. Moreover, company is on the verge where theywon’ttake the risk of loosingcapital. If there is something new in the product or new invention was done, at that time theycan make the choice to launch but when there is already competitors in the market of othercountries then it is hard to penetrate in the market and it will take time & resources foranalysing the market (perception of people, customer need, customer centricity etc). SOaccording to me theydon’thave to launch the product in the countries where Label Grouphas not been introduced and until their staff in not going to be suitable.2. Based on the following case study, in terms of its own internal readiness, is MeroComputers ready to export its product to the new international market? Why or why not?Provide a rationale for your assessment.Case Study: Mero Computers The Vice President of Mero Computers has recently read aboutthe demand for computer accessories in overseas markets. The organization has a marketingmanager with extensive international sales experience, who currently heads up aninternational salesdivision that has ambitious targets for new sales. The Finance Manager inthe organization has established a generous budget for new international trade initiatives. The production department has a plan to accommodate sales growth, which involves hiring athird shift to meet the demand for extra orders. Mero Computers currently exports itscomputer parts line internationally, to a market similar to the one identified by the VicePresident for this new venture. The organization has identified their very successful line ofergonomic computer mice as the product they wish to export. Although computer mice arequite common in the targeted region, MeroComputers’product is unique in that it has wonmultiple awards for its ergonomic properties. Mero Computers has started to investigatewhether the product will need to be adapted for the new market. It has support from theproduction department, who is open to the changes if they will drive competitiveness.
