COLLABORATION SYSTEMS AT ISUZU ASUTRALIA LIMITEDCase Study 2: Collaboration Systems at Isuzu Australia LimitedProfessor Stephen HuberCIS 109 – Introduction to Management Information SystemsFebruary 21, 2016
Collaboration Systems At Isuzu Australia Limited2Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is a subsidiary of Isuzi Motors Limited (Japan), and is responsible for the marketing, distribution, and support of Isuzu Trucks in Australia. IAL has a large national dealer network with around 65 employees. The franchised truck network comprises of over 60 dealerships, including branches.“The company needed a solution to improve the speed and accuracy of communication between the head office and the dealerships as well as facilitate increased collaboration with business partners” (Isuzu Australia, 2008). The reasoning behind this was to obtain a better communication network to access the latest material and information from the head office to the dealers. Before working with Websphere Portal and WCM, all information that was distributed was done manually, which was prone to many errors, expensive, and time consuming. With the instant messaging system, many business partners are able to contact one another to access information and discuss any issues.
