1 Ian Rodriguez Brittney Baxter English Composition II June 21st, 2022 Unit 2 Introduction, Thesis, and Outline for a Poetry Analysis I.Introduction A.Background:In the poem “Morning” (1950)by Frank O’Hara, the author explains how he spends his day missing and longing for his love interest. He writes this poem with particular words which it’s up to you to decipher the meaning. For example, you may think that the meaning of this poem is that the author is missing someone and is unable to see them or rather live with them making this poem sad. But on the other hand, you can also say that the meaning of this poem is that the author is reminiscing his past life with someone by sharing it with the readers as a life he once had but no longer does. B.Thesis:The theme of this poem by Frank O’Hara is to cherish your time with the people around you because one day they will not be around you anymore. Frank decided that the theme of this poem was to give the readers a good story in which every line holds a deeper meaning that can change depending on the way that you interpret it.
