Journal #6Agriculture’s Ethical Horizon (CH 9)The introduction part to this section was pretty interesting to read because it talks a little about how the prices of food are still high and that there is a mismatch of supply and demand. I do think that prices of food today are a little or even a lot higher than the prices in the past. Not sure why that it but it is good to know and understand that the people are able to see the trend of how these prices seem to go higher and higher. The book gives the example of how gas prices continue to rise; I remember that one-day in this past year where gas was like $1.99. That only really even lasted less than 24 hours, and then all of a sudden, gas prices were back up at $2.60. So because of that, I feel like there is a mind deception of thinking that we are buying products cheap because other stores sell them at a higher price, yet we are still paying a high price for the item.Organic food is a topic that has recently gained more popularity now than a couple of years ago. The reason why is because I think that consumers are trying to be more aware of the foods that they are eating and trying to eat safer foods. It is supposedlysaid that organic foods have a lower nitrate and protein content; however, they could also be higher in antioxidants.
