If a person lacks the enzyme necessary for BPG synthesis, does he/she exhibit anemia (lower than normal number of RBCs) or erythrocytosis (higher than normal number of RBCs)? Explain. 3. How does the movement of CO 2 from fetal blood into maternal blood increase the movement of oxygen from maternal blood into fetal blood? Explain.
