Unformatted text preview: COlVIM 350, Spring, 2008 Final Paper Assignment Think about some episode of conflict you have had (relatively recently) with someone in your family. Then: on note paper or something similar that you will NOT turn in, write down everything you remember about the conflict, in as great detail as you can manage. How did it start? What did it appear to be about? What do you think it was ACTUALLY about? How did the conflict progress? Who said what to whom (as best you can remember)? How was it resolved? What happened afterwards? That’ s your description of the conflict. ‘ Now, analyze the conflict in terms of the material you read in (roughly) the first parts of Chapter 8.. That analysis should take up about half of your paper. Finally, consult the latter part of chapter 8 (beginning on page 246) about constructive conflict. What could you or your conflict partner have done to make the conflict more useful? That should comprise the second half of your paper. Your paper should be about 8 pages long, typed, and double-spaced. The paper will be graded on 1. Paper and argument structure 2. Quality of writing 3.
