Running head: THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES The Vagina Monologues For a Chinese girl, I felt so surprised when I first saw the title, and I even guessed that the ‘vagina’ must represent some profound implication. Because, in the traditional culture of China, vagina isn’t just private structure of females’ body, which even represents dirty. Every time, people will feel embarrassed and ashamed when talk about this with other people, except with gynecologists. However, after watching the monologues, I think that my previous opinions and feeling are stupid. Why we should feel ashamed of vagina, which is part of our body. The vagina monologue is a feature film, which tells the stories of females. In the performance, actresses as first person told about eighteen separate stories, including Hair , the Flood, the Vagina Workshop and etc. And there are some stories make me impressed, and Hair is one of them. Hair tells that there is a female whose husband hates his pubic hair, and makes her shave the hair, which makes her husband feels excited when makes love with her. However, after shaving the hair, she feels painful and tingle, and the skin becomes irritated and even calamine lotion can’t help it. So, she rejects to shave the hair. The, his husband has an affair.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
