English 102 Schedule of Assignments Spring, 2008 (Subject to Change) Mrs. Kramar I . UNIT 1: The Personal Academic Essay: Boundary Crossing as a Mode of Inquiry What interests you now? What would you like to learn more about? The personal academic essay allows us to wade into formal research while breaking some rules in order to make the subject matter more palpable, enjoyable and relevant to us as both writers and readers. Because we are bringing in our own experiences, attitudes and aspirations, we may choose to write in the first person. Other creative nonfiction techniques, such as vivid description and time tripping, will enliven our research, which when done in the right spirit, is anything but boring. The subject of this paper has almost no limits. February 13 Invention Assignment I Due (7 points) February 27 - Paper 1 Due (20 points) II. Unit II: The Ethnographic Essay: Ethnography as a Mode of Inquiry March 11 to 13 - Student Conferences

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
