Shot-by-Shot Analysis of NBC Nightly News News clips must quickly convey much information in an appealing way, in order to hold the attention of viewers. By ensuring viewers’ attention, television networks can receive high ratings—the most important metric in broadcast television. Recently, U.S. airlines have received much attention do to their lack of proper FAA inspections. This shot-by-shot analysis looks at a story about American Airlines plane inspections and comes from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. The following shot-by-shot analysis chart shows how the script and visuals relate throughout the entire clip. An analysis of this news story shows many of the methods and techniques that are unique to broadcast news. And when you do that, it ripples across the country. And we learn tonight Delta's going to do the same thing with its older planes, and its schedule will be affected through the end of this week.
