2Bouncing Ball – Squash and StretchDELETE HINT IMAGES AND THIS MESSAGE BEFORE SUBMISSIONStep 1 – Understanding the concept behind squash and stretchWe'll be animating a bouncing ball in this assignment. It's a basic item, but the concepts ofsquash and stretch are quite powerful, so it's excellent practise. Any animated item followsthe same principle, but has greater substance. When our ball reaches the ground, it willbriefly try to continue going despite the fact that the ground is in the path. This implies that itwill change shape (flatten out a little) for a brief period of time once the weight strikes a hardsurface and is forced to stop its descent. This also increases the energy of the ball for itsdirection shift. The degree of squash and stretch varies according on the type of the dynamicitem. The less squash and stretch there are, the more rigid the thing.
