Version Control has many benefits in the software development field. Software development is always
changing, things are constantly being updated, and new features are often being added or changed, and
it’s as if there is no final version of any software. Because of this version control is essential to help keep
track of all those changes over time. Version control allows the development team to compare files, find
differences, and then combine changes in the code they have made.
One major benefit of version control is troubleshooting an issue. Being able to compare the different
versions of the application to see where the project went off course. To do this a developer would take
the last working file and compare it to the faulty file, this would save time when trying to identify the
bug or error.
Another benefit of version control would be when a new developer joins the team, they would be able
to review the version changes to see the progress the team has already made. Even if the team prefers
to have entirely independent code versions in order to keep individual efforts separate, the newbie could
