System Development Life Cycle One of the traditional method for developing, maintaining and replacing information system is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). It is a group of steps where a team of information system professionals, database designers and programmers follow in an organization. There are five major phases in the cycle starting with the Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation and Maintenance. Each phase produces an output which is an input for the subsequent phase. Please provide definition of the specific phase. Here I will discuss about the second phase i.e, the Analysis Phase which follows after Planning phase. In this phase the analyst will analyze all the requirements needed for the product (organization) to be developed and also structure those requirements in the form of conceptual data models. Analysis also include understanding the limitations of the system, learning system related problems, etc. The information system professionals also analyze the scope and plans of the project and schedule resources accordingly. Identify the type of data model that is developed within the phase (if one is developed) and provide a definition of this data model.
